Copyright © 2017-2026 Vaquar Khan.
The author retains copyright in the original expression of this work, including:
- the book manuscript and chapter text

- the written description of Adaptive Granularity Governance: The Khan Microservice Pattern
- the written description of the RVx Index, Saga Complexity Score (SCS), and KM3 (Microservices Maturity Assessment)
Copyright protects the expression of ideas (the text, diagrams, and code as written). It does not by itself stop others from independently implementing similar architectural ideas. Attribution and citation are required when you reuse this material under the licenses above.

How the dual license works in practice
- Code (MIT): You may use, modify, and distribute the software under MIT, including commercial use, with the MIT notice preserved.
- Prose and figures (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0): You may share the book text and diagrams for non-commercial purposes with attribution. You may not create derivative works of that prose/figures or use them commercially without a separate permission from the author.
- Do not describe this repository as “All rights reserved” in a way that contradicts the MIT grant on code. Rights in the prose are reserved except as granted by CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.
Third-party marks
Names such as AWS, Amazon, Kubernetes, and Java are trademarks of their respective owners. Mentions are for identification and education only.
